Tanaav, which saw Manav Vij in the lead role, is back with its second season releasing on Friday, September 6. Before we go into what season 2 has to offer, here's a little background of what happened in season 1, and how it could shape up the second season of the show which is inspired from the Israeli cult classic, Fauda...
Manav Vij's Kabir was enjoying his life after believing that he had killed Umar Riaz (Sumit Kaul). That is till he got to know that the same Umar he was thinking is dead for 18 months is actually alive. Kabir is known for his unruly ways, and so, bringing him back was a risk.
Kabir got permission from Vikrant Rathore (Arbaaz Khan) to stay for more than just one mission. He is on a mission to catch Umar and knows it wouldn't be so easy.
Junaid (Shashank Arora) has been working for Idris (Mir Sarwar) and reports to Umar. All he sees is a mission that needs to be accomplished at any given cost.
Kabir chased Dr. Farah (Ekta Kaul) to get information from her on Umar and Junaid. He gets to know about Umar planning to meet his love, Zainab (Waluscha D'Souza). That is when Kabir plans to capture Umar but fails to do so.
The team has Meer Saab (MK Raina), who has worked with Umar and is willing to set up a meeting with him. However, things do not go as planned, and Kabir sets off on what is a risky and unapproved mission. He does so with his team, while Vikrant tries to track Kabir down. Although he can retrieve most of the team, Kabir disappears, but not before paying the price.
Kabir and his team finally reached the last stage of the mission, fully aware that everything could go wrong. They move ahead to capture both Umar and Junaid but only have an update on one of them - Umar. Junaid takes the mission forward, while Umar is dead.
Gaurav Arora has joined Tanaav 2 as one of the leading antagonists. He plays the role of Fareed Mir in the second season, which will release on SonyLIV via OTTplay Premium on September 6.
