Vijay’s Beast is only a few days away from its much-anticipated release and the movie has now set a new record in the USA for the actor. The movie became Vijay's highest-grossing film premiere in the US.

The online reservations for Beast started a few days ago in the US and people have made sure they bag a ticket for its premiere. Beast has reportedly become Vijay's highest-grossing film in the US premiere, breaking Rajinikanth starrer Annaatthe’s first day collection.

The movie has attracted fans in the US very different from the actor’s previous projects and the premiere has grossed $415K. The actor’s previous highest was Mersal, which grossed $407K in the US premiere.

Ahimsa Entertainment, who are distributing the action-comedy in the US, took to social media to share the news with the fans. The tweet, which came with a poster, confirmed the news.

Beast has also outdone Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe in premiere numbers in the US, and is at number six in the top-grossing Tamil films in the USA premiere. With two more days for its release, these numbers could still improve.

Written and directed by Nelson, Beast is set in a mall which has been hijacked by armed terrorists. Vijay plays a spy who is also trapped inside the mall, but uses his skills to rescue the hostages.

The movie also stars Pooja Hegde, Selvaraghavan, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, and Lilliput Faruqui among others. The music by Anirudh Ravichander has already been a big hit with the fans, with Arabic Kuthu having over 288 million views on YouTube.

The movie is set to hit theatres around the world on April 13.
