It’s not even been a week since the release of the first track from Vijay’s highly anticipated film Beast and it has already hit the ceiling. Fans are still reeling from its electrifying impact. Titled Arabic Kuthu, a delightful fusion of the words Arabic and Tamil Nadu’s own dappan koothu, the song did not take long to hit the top places when it comes to chartbusters. Still trending today, the track’s lyric video has raked in over 45 million views, and is still counting.
There seems to be quite a few elements that worked in the song’s favour that made it an instant fan favourite. The glamour and the oomph factor of the dynamic duo of Vijay and Pooja Hegde are definitely one of its highlights, as the dazzlingly decked stars give it their all in some superbly choreographed dance sequences. And despite being a lyric video, the clip is a visual treat with a colourful aesthetic dominating the background as the lyrics swing by. The song also seems to pay homage to Arabic music in its score and even glimpses of the culture can be seen in the music video’s sets.
The video also gives glimpses of Anirudh Ravichander and Jonita Gandhi, as they groove to the beats while lending their vocals to the song. Sivakarthikeyan’s engaging lyrics come as the cherry on top.
The upcoming film, which also features Selvaraghavan, Yogi Babu, Shine Tom Chacko, VTV Ganesh, Lilliput Faruqui, Ankur Ajit Vikal, Sathish Krishnan and Aparna Das, is written and directed by Nelson and bankrolled under the banner of Sun Pictures.
Beast will hit theatres on April 14, 2022.
