On Tuesday evening, a star-studded screening of Bawaal took place in Mumbai which saw the presence of Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Boney Kapoor, Tamannaaah Bhatia, and others in attendance. In the middle of this event, a news report came in claiming that Varun and Janhvi starrer Bawaal is likely to be dubbed in Japanese.
According to the news report in Pinkvilla, Bawaal producer Sajid Nadiadwala has received requests from Japan to dub the Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor film in the Japanese language due to historical relevance.
“The requests have come in from the Japanese audience. They have expressed their interest to dub it in the local language as due to the World War 2 connection, the film has the potential to resonate with the audience in Japan. There are conversations in Japan taking Bawaal as the subject matter of the film touches upon the themes and events surrounding World War 2, which also forms a part of Japan’s history,” a source close to the development told Pinkvilla.
On July 10, Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor launched the trailer of Bawaal in Dubai.
Director of the film, Nitesh Tiwari also was present at the trailer launch event and addressed the World War 2 references in the trailer.
“A film that talks about events from World War 2 cannot be made without mentioning Hitler. When you start writing it, it’s not about Hitler. There is so much more to it. Every incident in World War 2 has been carefully chosen,” Tiwari had said to the media persons.
Bawaal is an upcoming romantic drama film directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Earthsky Pictures. It stars Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor as a troubled married couple. The movie will be released on July 21 only on Amazon Prime Video.
