After having stunned the audiences with the first teaser of the Adah Sharma starrer Bastar, the film’s makers have now released its second teaser

If you had thought that Adah Sharma was all about being bubbly and romancing around the trees, she proved it all wrong with her absolutely spellbinding performance in ‘The Kerala Story’, which was directed by Sudipto Sen. The film, which went onto bag many awards, till date, remains one of the most hard-hitting films in Bollywood. The award-winning director-actress duo of Sudipto Sen and Adah Sharma is back once again with Bastar, whose second teaser has been released today.
The hard-hitting teaser starts off with an extremely distraught widow from the village of Bastar, recalling an horrific incident about how the Naxalites had killed her husband Milan Kashyap in front of the entire village. She then goes on to question everyone whether it was her husband’s mistake of having hoisted the Indian flag in his school on August 15. This is followed by her mouthing an extremely strong statement that states, ‘Bastar mein Bharat ka jhanda lehraana ek jurm hai” (it’s a crime to hoist the Indian flag in Bastar).
And that the punishment for this crime is merciless death. She also adds that they (the Naxalites) have even taken away her son, who they will transform into a Naxalite. She then reveals that it is mandatory to hand over one child from every family to the Naxalites. And if they don’t do so, they (the Naxalites) land up killing the entire family. She then vows to avenge her husband’s death and also bring back her son. She also takes a solemn pledge to eliminate nasalism from Bastar.
Besides Adah Sharma, Bastar also stars an array of string performers like Indira Tiwari, Vijay Krishna, Yashpal Sharma, Raima Sen, Shilpa Shukla, Kishor Kadam, Subrata Dutta and others. While the story is being written by Amarnath Jha, Sudipto Sen and Vipul Amrutlal Shah, the film is being produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who is also the Creative Director of the film. The film has been scheduled to be released on 15th March 2024.
