Adah Sharma's film Bastar: The Naxal Story was theatrically released on March 15, 2024. Since Adah reunited with Sudipto Sen after The Kerala Story's success, it was expected that their new movie Bastar would work well. Unfortunately, their film failed to work wonders at the box office. Nearly two months after its theatrical run, Bastar is set to release on ZEE5 on May 17, 2024. Before that, the makers of the film dropped a new glimpse of the film, starring Adah and Indira Tiwari.
The new glimpse of Sudipto Sen's Bastar was shared by ZEE5 on YouTube. This short glimpse specifically highlights Indira Tiwari aka Ratna talking about how she lost her husband. It further sheds light on how the lady decided to avenge her husband's death. While Ratna talks about losing her husband, Adah Sharma aka Neerja says she can understand her pain. To know what happens next, check out the video below:
While posting the above-shared video, the makers of Bastar mentioned, "Bastar in Chattisgarh is reeling under the threat of the leftist extremist group, the Naxalites. Witness the tale of Ratna, who has lost her husband to the Maoists for hoasting the Indian Tri-color."
Earlier, in an interview with News18, Adah Sharma spoke about the controversy surrounding her anti-JNU remark in the teaser of Bastar.
"When you play a tough cop like Neeraj Mathur in Bastar, I want people to think that I portrayed her in the strongest, most fearless and powerful way. I want people to believe each word I’m saying in the film. When she says that 76 jawans were butchered and that she wants to gun them down, she’s saying it out of frustration because she saw the jawans being shot and chopped into pieces. I might not say it as Adah but Neerja would," she said.
Directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, the film will soon drop on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. Are you looking forward to watching it? Tweet @ottplayapp and let us know.
