Basil Joseph is currently in an excellent phase in his acting career, with back-to-back successful films. The actor-filmmaker, who previously directed the much-celebrated superhero film Minnal Murali, has been on a long break from direction, due to his commitments as an actor. However, in one of his recent interviews, Basil Joseph revealed that he plans to take a break from acting, to focus on filmmaking. The multi-faceted talent also dropped hints on his projects with the superstars, Mammootty and Mohanlal.

The actor-director, who is busy promoting his recent outing Pravinkoodu Shappu, opened up about the plans for his next directorial venture. Basil Joseph revealed that he has been working on multiple scripts for quite some time now, and one of them is almost finished. The Sookshmadarshini actor revealed that he is planning to take a break from acting to focus on filmmaking, once things fall in place.
Interestingly, Basil Joseph also hinted at the possibilities of working with both Mammootty and Mohanlal, in his upcoming directorial ventures. According to the actor-filmmaker, all his upcoming projects are made on a big canvas with a big cast and crew and need extensive pre-production. The Ponman actor added that when his directorial project will go on floors, depends on many factors. However, when he was asked about collaborations with Mammootty and Mohanlal, Basil Joseph did not deny the possibilities.

The multi-faceted talent is currently on a high with the massive success of his latest outing, Sookshmadarshini. The movie, which had its OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar, has highly impressed both the audiences and critics. Pravinkoodu Shappu, another recently release project starring Basil Joseph, has opened to mixed reviews. As per the latest updates, the actor-filmmaker is set to make a grand comeback to the big screens on January 30, 2025, with the upcoming Jothish Shankar directorial, Ponman. Basil Joseph is expected to take a break from acting, after the release of Ponman.
