Mohanlal’s directorial debut Barroz was in the news for a long time before it finally hit the theatres in 3D as a Christmas release. However, the children’s fantasy film failed to generate much buzz post its release and had to bow out from theatres. Now, the Malayalam film is set for its digital debut on Disney+ Hotstar and it remains to be seen if Mohanlal's labour of love will win appreciation from the OTT viewers.

Viduthalai Part 2

For the second part of his Viduthalai duology, Vetrimaaran joined hands with Vijay Sethupathi to narrate the tale of Perumal Vaathiyaar and what led him down the path of a revolutionary. Soori plays the rookie cop, constable Kumaresan, in this film which also features Manju Warrier in a key role. The political film was noted for the powerful performances of its cast, especially leading man Vijay Sethupathi.
The Smile Man

Sarath Kumar dons the police uniform in this crime thriller that chases a serial killer. But the heroic cop is also battling Alzheimer's disease and needs to get to the bottom of the case before his memory fails him completely. Helmed by Syam-Praveen, the film garnered mixed reviews when it was released in theatres in December 2024.
