Barbie and Marriage Story creator unites George Clooney with Adam Sandler for a Netflix movie – Here’s everything we know so far

While we recollect everything we witnessed in 2023 and put it down in the gazillion listicles that are surfacing on the Internet at the moment, one of the milestones and benchmark events was the release of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling's Barbie, right next to Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. The movie, which Greta Gerwig and her husband and co-writer Noah Baumbach created, spoke to the general public and even outperformed the Nolan directorial. Now what if we tell you Noah is uniting George Clooney and Adam Sandler for a Netflix film? 

What Is The Buzz About?

Well, this is Noah’s reunion with the streaming giant after the supremely successful and beautifully aching Marriage Story, which even managed to make Oscar buzz. For a man who makes cinema of emotions, Noah Baumbach is now roping in two actors who are poles apart from each other for a drama backed by Netflix. Both George Clooney and Adam Sandler are confirmed to be a part of this movie and this will be the very first time the two will share the screen in their long and illustrious respective careers. 

Talking about the project, Noah Baumbach has written the script for the yet-untitled film featuring Clooney and Sandler with Emily Mortimer and he is even producing the project with Amy Pascal and David Heyman. According to the deadline, there is not much revealed about the project but it is being defined as a funny and emotional coming-of-age film for adults. There is no update on the release date or when the movie goes on floors yet.

Adam Sandler And Netflix, A Love Story:

For Adam Sandler, Netflix has become his second home, as the actor was recently seen voicing the lead in Leo. He has previously worked with the streaming giant on Murder Mystery 2 and You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah. Sandler is also not new to the Noah Baumbach camp. He has worked with the Marriage Story and Barbie fame on The Meyerowitz Stories.

As for George Clooney, he is trying his luck with a bunch of new folks. However, he has a kitty full of projects with the reunion with Brad Pitt for Apple TV+’s Wolfs. There is even buzz that there is another Oceans movie in the making apart from the prequel that is making buzz and rumored to be featuring Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie as the parents of George Clooney’s character. Well, that will be a full circle if it happens.
