The new crime drama Bambai Meri Jaan will have its world premiere on Prime Video. Amazon's 10-part original series will debut on September 14. S. Hussain Zaidi wrote the screenplay for Bambai Meri Jaan, which Rensil D'Silva directed with the help of Excel Media and Entertainment's Ritesh Sidhwani, Kassim Jagmagia, and Farhan Akhtar on production.

Details about the series:

With a highly adaptable and talented cast that includes Kay Kay Menon, Avinash Tiwary, Kritika Kamra, Nivedita Bhattacharya, and Amyra Dastur, the fictional crime series is a compelling drama about a father and son who are two sides of the same coin. The series delves into the age-old conflict between good and evil. The plot centres on Dara Kadri, a young man in the post-independence era who struggles to choose between carrying on his father's (Menon) legacy as a law enforcement officer and following his own path into the heart of organised crime.

In a statement, Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Media and Entertainment said that Bambai Meri Jaan chronicles the birth of the underworld in Mumbai against the backdrop of a free nation. In this riveting mob thriller, the age-old struggle of good and evil is explored. They are overjoyed to be partnering with Prime Video once again to provide another compelling series to their global audience.

Insight from the show's creator:

The show's creator, Shujaat Saudagar, said that Bambai Meri Jaan explores the nuanced relationship between genetics and upbringing. Thematically, he has always been drawn to crafting cinematic narratives about troubled families and other dysfunctional relationships. The story of a family's ups and downs in post-independence Mumbai is interwoven with the development of the city itself in Bambai Meri Jaan. They are excited to hear what people think of this series, which is near and dear to their hearts.

For the uninitiated, Shujaat directed Rock On 2 in 2016.
