One of the many actors who’s surprisingly continued to be relevant among gen-Z in recent times is Nandamuri Balakrishna. His talk show, Unstoppable on aha, is certainly a reason that has taken him a step closer to audiences. However, it’s his filter-free talk that has made all the difference - he neither cares to be politically correct nor minces words and is unabashed and unapologetic about it.
His presence at the trailer launch of Vishwak Sen’s Das Ka Dhamki turned out to be another testimony to his reach and his popularity among the younger lot. At the event, Balakrishna surprised fans while talking about Aditya 999, the sequel to Aditya 369, and his shelved directorial Narthanasala. “Even I tried to direct films. However, my very first film, Narthanasala, couldn’t take off,” he said.
“I was busy with other commitments and realised direction isn’t a walk in the park. But, yes, Aditya 999 will be starting next year,” Balakrishna added. Does it mean that he’ll direct it? And as proclaimed, will it feature his son Mokshagna? Well, we don’t know about it yet. It looks like the actor will be investing all his energies on this film after the action entertainer with Anil Ravipudi.
At the event, Balakrishna praised Vishwak Sen for his ability to juggle multiple responsibilities - production, direction and acting. He also expressed his wish to do films like Das Ka Dhamki and have his share of fun but hinted that his ‘image’ proves to be a constraint. He called the Vishwak Sen directorial a perfect package of action, romance, humour, dances and picturesque locations.
When fans asked him to talk about Veera Simha Reddy, he said there’ll be a better occasion to discuss it. Shruti Haasan plays the female lead in the action entertainer directed by Gopichand Malineni. The film, to release for Sankranti 2023, also stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Kannada star Duniya Vijay, Australian actress Chandrika Ravi and Naveen Chandra.
