The pre-teaser was first dropped during the release of Byomkesh O Durgo Rohoshyo. Now the teaser of Dev’s Bagha Jatin is out. Directed by Arun Roy, the teaser roars patriotism as Dev, as Bagha Jatin, says, “I am an Indian. That is my only identity.”

Bagha Jatin's teaser was released in an elaborate event on the eve of the death anniversary of Bagha Jatin. September 10. Dev, who rushed back from Pradhan’s shooting in North Bengal, paid tribute to the freedom fighters by releasing the teaser one day before that. He said, “Numerous Bengalis sacrificed their lives to liberate India. How many remember them? Hence I thought Bagha Jatin, whose roar trembled the British throne, should be brought forward.” He further added, “Tollywood is going forward on its might. Some films having archival value should be made if speedy development is needed. The current film, directed by Arun Roy, is one such piece. The film is going to be a valuable feather not on my crown, but on Tollywood's crown.”

Bagha Jatin will be released on October 19 in Bengal and on October 20 all over the country. Dev thinks that people from all over India should know the Bengali freedom fighters. Hence, he is releasing the film in other regional languages. However, blessings from the elders are crucial before any good work. Dev did that too.

Bagha Jatin's grandson, researcher Dr Prithwindra Mukhopadhyay heard the news in France that Dev was making a film on his grandfather. He wrote a letter to Dev. He wrote that he had been seeing from his childhood how misinformation was spread about Bagha Jatin and requested Dev not to do that. He also advised Dev to take the help of his book Bagha Jatin: The Revolutionary Legacy. Dev assured him that he would not give wrong information in the film.

Mr. Mukhopadhyay sent blessings through a video message to Dev and his team. The film's actors Rohan Bhattacharya, Kajal Sengupta, Shoaib Karim, and Samiul Alam came to the stage wearing black dresses. They chanted Vande Mataram on the stage. Nilayan Chatterjee did the music for the film. Artists like Arijit Singh, Sonu Nigam, Iman Chakraborty, and Snigdhajit Bhoumik sang to his tunes. Dev thinks that the album will create its mark on the film world.
