After Byomkesh Bakshi, Dev is set to present the biopic of the brave martyr Bagha Jatin, also known as Jatindranath Mukherjee, this Puja. Directed by Arun Roy, the film captures the life of Jatindranath Mukherjee in the hearts of this generation. The pre-teaser of the film was shown on the big screen, along with Byomkesh O Durgo Rohoshyo. On August 14, it was officially announced by the actor-producer.

Dev is known to challenge himself. He continues to strive for excellence in every role. So, after his third film 8/2 Binay Badal Dinesh, Arun Ray immediately thought of bringing back Bagha Jatin on the screen and urged Dev, the producer, to take the risk of making a spectacular show on a brave martyr.

The glimpse from the pre-teaser reveals that Dev has once again transformed himself, leaving behind the characters of Joy from Projapoti and Byomkesh from Byomkesh O Durgo Rohoshyo. He has shed weight, trimmed his beard, and changed his hairstyle. His forehead is smeared with sandalwood paste and a rudraksha bead mala wraps his neck. Dressed in a dhoti and Punjabi, he looks splendid in a black coat. This is how he has tried to make himself trustworthy on screen.

Dev has tried to convey a sense of realisation in the first glimpse, and the actor has put in much more effort to achieve it. Jatindranath Mukherjee became famous as Bagha Jatin after he fought with a tiger without any firearm. The pre-teaser ends with a scene where Dev faces the tiger, hinting at the real historical event of the fight.

VFX or not, he has convincingly portrayed the action sequences. Here too, he has embraced the attire of an ascetic. All combined, on October 20, Dev will take the essence of patriotism to the big screen, unveiling it with grandeur.
