Jatindranath Mukhopadhyay was a daredevil soldier in India’s movement for independence. He was called Bagha Jatin because it was heard that he once killed a tiger with just a knife. Dev is all set to bring this revolutionary character through a biopic, Bagha Jatin. Arijit Singh praised Dev’s effort and shared the teaser.

Arijit Singh has mesmerised the country with his soulful songs. He delivered many superhits at the leaps of actors like Ranbir Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan. But he lives a simple life in Jiaganj, Murshidabad. He is known to speak his mind. No exception happened for Dev’s Bagha Jatin.

Arjit shared the teaser on Facebook and wrote, “Witness the untold story of one of the greatest freedom fighters of India who sacrificed his life for his dream of an independent India. Best wishes to @imdevadikari and @deventertainmentventures as they make a brave attempt to present the story of “Bagha Jatin”. I humbly request all of you to support this film and pay due homage to this forgotten hero.”

Dev published the film’s first look with the caption: “Jatin Mukhopadhyay either kills or dies, but never surrenders. The brave tale of a Bengali will unfold on the eve of the 75th anniversary of India's independence. Bagha Jatin--the hero of Bengal.” Graphical motions were used in the look, and Dev surprised everyone in the attire of a monk. The Bengali teaser was released on August 14. The Hindi teaser was released on August 15. The film, directed by Arun Roy, will be released in Bengali and Hindi on October 19.
