Talent powerhouses Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar finally collaborated for a movie, and that film happened to be none other than Badhaai Do. Touted to be a sequel to Ayushmann Khurrana-Bhumi’s Badhaai Ho, the film sees Bhumi in the role of a lesbian. The original film dealt with having a child in old age. Of course, the concept has people intrigued, and now, after its theatrical release, Badhaai Do is going to come on OTT too.

When and where to watch Badhaai Do?

Badhaai Do was released on the big screen on February 11, 2022. Now, nearly a month after its theatrical run, the film will premiere on Netflix on March 11, 2022.

Who plays what?

Rajkummar Rao is seen in the role of a police inspector named Shardul Thakur. Meanwhile, Bhumi plays the role of "Sumi" (Suman Singh), who is a physical education teacher. She brings in a new angle in the film by playing a lesbian. Seema Pahwa is seen in the role of her mother, while Sheeba Chaddha plays Rajkummar (Shardul)’s mother.

Are Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao or Ayushmann Khurrana a part of the movie?

Even if it is a sequel to Badhaai Ho, Badhaai Do is a completely different concept. Thus, Ayushmann Khurrana, Neena Gupta, or Gajraj Rao are not coming back in the film. Whether they have cameos is something that has been kept under wraps till now.

What is the story all about?

Shardul and Sumi, who is a lesbian get into marital bliss. He arranges it with her and her partner. Shardul marries Sumi so that their family members stop irritating them with the marriage topic. Thus, they live under one roof in a sexless marriage. How long can the drama continue, though? Will they be able to pull off what they started?

A film that addresses the marital pressure.

Badhaai Do addresses what we know as marital pressure. After the families force their kids to get married, it does not stop there. In fact, that is just the beginning. When the kids get married, there is pressure to have kids, and there are concerns when a couple does not have a child. Badhaai Do explores that and what living under pressure feels like.
