What seemed like a massive Eid box office clash that was about to break some records turned out to be a dud affair in India, leaving the audience upset. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan were both released in theatres on the same day, during Eid. The big releases had all the attention from across the country, but they failed to live up to the hype. However, the Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff-led action drama Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is having a better run than Ajay Devgn's Maidaan. Although it is still not enough to call it a success story.
It turns out the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial has now crossed the Rs 50 crore milestone at the worldwide box office, which is the only achievement the movie has managed so far. The film was released two days ago and also had paid previews on April 10.
According to numbers from Hindustan Times, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is now a Rs 50 crore plus movie in just two days of its release. The movie, by the end of day two, had managed to earn Rs 55 crore on the global stage. However, the movie, which earned Rs 36.33 crore on day one, brought in a number that is not even half of what it managed on the first day. The total also includes the collection the film made with its paid previews that happened a day before the official release on April 10.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has still not managed to come close to the expectations trade experts had from it. The movie in the domestic market has only rung in Rs 5 crore on day two, which is way less than what it earned on day one. A massive movie like this one not being able to register good numbers certainly has the makers alarmed and is a cause for concern.
However, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has left Maidaan behind by a long gap. The Ajay Devgn starrer has not performed well on day two in the domestic market. The sports drama has earned Rs 9.82 crore on day two in India. It will be interesting to see if both movies find some redemption in the first weekend of their release, but it seems only a miracle can now revive them.
