Bad Sisters, the adaptation of the Belgian series The Out-Laws, about the five Garvey sisters, is set to return for a second season. Starring Sharon Horgan, as the oldest of the sisters, Eva, who has a more maternal role, following their parents’ death, Ursula (Eva Birthistle), a nurse and married mother of three, Grace (Anne-Marie Duff), Bibi (Sarah Greene) and Becka (Eve Hewson), the first season revolved around the death of Grace’s husband John Paul (Claes Bang).
John Paul, a controlling and physically abusive man, had reduced Grace to a shadow of her former self, lacking strength and spirit, which the other Garvey sisters hated and wished to set right. When he keeps Grace from joining her sisters for a traditional Christmas swim, they finally talk about what they’d been wishing for all along – to see John Paul dead and gone. They then begin to work out murder possibilities that will not arouse doubt and set out to put their theories in practice.
As relieved as the sisters are when John Paul finally dies, his insurance agents begin to look for potential foul play, which would prevent them from making a hefty payout. Will they sniff it out? Bad Sisters is now coming back with a second season that will kick off on Apple TV from November 13. As is routine, there will be a 2-episode premiere, followed by weekly episode drops every Wednesday, till December 25.
Season 2 picks up 2 years after the events of Season 1. According to the official synopsis, two years after the ‘accidental death’ of Grace’s abusive husband John Paul, the close-knit Garvey sisters may have moved on, but then past truths resurface, and the ladies are thrust back into the spotlight, suspicions are at an all-time high, lies are told, secrets revealed and the sisters are forced to work out who they can trust.
