Debutant Sathish Selvakumar's Bachelor, starring GV Prakash and Divyabharathi in lead roles, had hit the screens on December 3. It was announced recently by the makers that the film will have its OTT release soon. The romantic drama is considered to be one of the few movies that attracted young audience to movie halls after the second lockdown.
Produced by G Dillibabu under the banner of Axess Film Factory, the movie has editing by San Lokesh and cinematography by Theni Eswar. GV himself has composed music for the songs along with Dhibu Ninan Thomas and AH Kaashif, while Siddhu Kumar has composed background score.
What's Bachelor all about?
The film's story revolves around two IT employees with contrasting behaviours getting into a live-in relationship. Despite hailing from different family backgrounds, everything was going well for them until the girl tells her partner that she is pregnant. Quite shocked with her revelation, the protagonist expresses his disinterest in becoming a parent, after which the couple gets separated.
Later, they get involved in a legal soup after the girl's father, a lawyer, initiates a criminal case against his daughter's partner. Will the couple be able to forgive themselves and lead a happy life?
When and where to watch Bachelor online?
The movie will release on January 21 on SonyLIV. The social media handle of the digital platform announced the same a few hours ago with a tweet and a two-minute video from the movie. The post read, "A carefree young man gets into a live-in relationship with his colleague. What happens next? Bachelor, streaming from 21 Jan on SonyLIV. #BachelorOnSonyLIV (sic)."
Bachelor, which has a run time of close to three hours, was appreciated for its making and performances of the lead actors. The stretched screenplay, however, received a thumbs down from the critics.
