Baby, easily the most unexpected hit in Telugu cinema in 2023, is a love triangle that generated a lot of debate post its theatrical release in July. It is one of the rare films where the makers ensured a seven-week window between its release and OTT premiere. Sai Rajesh, who directed Hrudaya Kaleyam and produced Kobbari Matta, Colour Photo, wielded the megaphone for the same.

Anand Deverakonda, Vaishnavi Chaitanya and Viraj Ashwin headlined the film produced by SKN under Mass Movie Makers. The film had its digital premiere on the leading OTT platform aha yesterday and witnessed a breathtaking response from the streamer’s subscribers already. As part of the promotional campaign for aha, the lead stars of Baby came together for a song challenge.

The trio had sung the hit track from the film, O Rendu Prema Meghalila and requested viewers to come up with their own versions of the songs from Baby on Instagram. The singers behind the 20 best renditions of the songs (with the hashtag #BabyOnAha) will have a chance to go on a date with Anand Deverakonda, Vaishnavi Chaitanya and Viraj Ashwin soon.

The film revolves around the relationships among its protagonists - Anand, Vaishnavi and Viraj. While Anand and Vaishnavi are teenage sweethearts, the latter’s life takes a different turn when she joins an engineering college in the heart of the city. From her looks to views about love, friendship, social status, Vaishnavi is a changed person altogether, something Anand can’t digest well.

Is there a happy ending in store for Anand and Vaishnavi? How does Viraj complicate the scenario? The supporting cast comprises Nagababu, Lirisha, Kusuma Degalamarri, Sathvik Anand, Babloo, Seetha, Mounika and Keerthana. M N Bal Reddy cranked the camera and Viplav Nyshadam was the editor. Dheeraj Mogilineni co-produced the film. Suresh Bhimigani is the art director.
