Varun Dhawan starrer Baby John was released in theaters on December 25. Even though it was one of the most-awaited action films of 2024, it has been getting a poor reception at the box office. The film also stars Wamiqa Gabbi and Keerthy Suresh. In a new interview, Wamiqa opened up about the transformation of her character.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Wamiqa opened up about the transformation of her character from the modest Tara to the power-packed Adhira in Baby John. Her performance was praised by fans.

Talking about her preparation for the film’s action sequences, Wamiqa said, "I rehearsed for 2-3 days before shooting a major action scene." Sharing more of it, the actress said that the scene was intense and highly technical, so the crew allocated 7-8 hours to get it just right. "We finished the scene in just two hours! The team was thrilled, and honestly, so was I,” she said.

She also added, “The contrast between who my character is and what she does will definitely catch people off guard. There’s so much more to her than meets the eye.”

More about Baby John

The film is a remake of Atlee's Theri. As per Sacnilk, the film managed to earn only ₹4.61 crore at the domestic box office on day five, making a total of ₹28.51 crore.

The film is produced by Jio Studios, Cine1 Studios, and A for Apple Productions. It features music composed by the talented Thaman S, while Kiran Koushik takes care of the cinematography and Ruben takes charge of editing.

The OTTplay review of Baby John says, "Baby John tries to rock the cradle of Bollywood with South Indian masala but ends up crying over spilt milk. While Varun Dhawan flexes his dual avatars, the film crawls in its crib of clichés, unable to walk the tightrope between style and substance."
