Baby John is the Hindi remake of Atlee's Tamil film Theri, which is directed by A Kaleeswaran.

Filmmaker Atlee, who shattered multiple box office records with his first Bollywood project Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan, is all set for his second outing in the Hindi film industry. This, time the director is donning a producer's hat for the Hindi remake of Vijay's hit film Theri, titled Baby John. The film stars Varun Dhawan in the lead role as the action entertainer. Now, the lead actor has shared that he has kick-started the work on the film by sharing a sneak peek from the shoot.
Taking to his Instagram account, Varun shared a picture of himself from the set. Though we don’t get to see the actor’s face, he flaunts his well-toned body and looks all set for the action thriller. He wrote: "back to work #babyjohn." Take a look at his post here:
After watching Varun play an intense character in the film Badlapur, fans have been eagerly waiting and are super excited about this film. As he shares a picture and updates his followers about resuming the shoot on the film, this has come as good news for all the VD fans out there.

Earlier, Varun Dhawan unveiled the official poster from the film where he can be seen as an angry man holding a small and sharp weapon in his hand. He captioned the post: Hold on tight, the ride is about to get wild. #BabyJohn coming to your nearest theaters on May 31st!"
A few weeks ago, the makers of the film announced the film by unveiling Varun's character from the film. In the video, he can be seen seated on a throne which is surrounded by traditional dancers. He is seen holding a bird while exuding an intense and angry look.
Baby John, directed by A Kaleeswaran was earlier titled VD18. The film also stars Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, and Rajpal Yadav in important parts.
Earlier, in a conversation with Indianexpress, Jawan director Atlee credited Shah Rukh Khan for inspiring him to produce films. He was quoted as saying, "Shah Rukh sir inspired me, not just as an actor, but also as a producer. I have learnt the craft from spending four years with him. Now, I have started producing films here (Bollywood). I already produced a couple of films in the south, and now I have started producing all over — producing two in Tamil, two in Telugu, two in Hindi."
Baby John is all set to hit theatres on May 31.
