In the film, after DCP Satya Verma IPS murders Babbar Sher's son for a serious crime, the two become embroiled in a power struggle that ends with Babbar destroying Satya's family. Since his daughter Khushi is the only one who managed to escape, Satya pretends to die so he and Kushi can live a quiet life in Kerala as Baby John. Satya takes vengeance on Babbar Sher and protects Khushi after the latter threatens his tranquil life upon learning of his existence.
In an interview with India Today, Dhawan provided a rationale for Atlee's decision to pursue this project, noting that the filmmaker had to rewrite a significant portion of the film's geography. They cannot simply use it as a straight remake; instead, they must make changes to it. The actor believes they have accomplished that.
Additionally, he mentioned that Baby John brought attention to actual situations concerning the safety of women in India and offered a modern perspective on parenting.
To provide further details, Kiran Koushik shot the film, Ruben edited it, and Thaman S. provided the score.
