Baby John box office collection day 8: As the world now moves on to planning for the new year after having lived in the hangover of 2024 and enjoyed the first day of the New Year, the scoreboard for the box office haul of the movies is out. There is so much buzz around the same that you know this is a major holiday any movie can get. One of the lucky ones is the Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh-led Baby John, which is produced by Atlee. The movie has been performing in an underwhelming way for the past week and that has put a lot of pressure on it because it needed to bounce back to sustain itself on the big screen. Turns out, at the end of the New Year's holiday...
Baby John, which also stars Wamiqa Gabbi and Rajpal Yadav and is directed by Kalees, was released on Christmas 2024, and from day two, it started earning very low numbers. The film has not managed to find any redemption and continues to be very underwhelming in terms of its box office collection. This hints that the movie might not even touch the Rs 50 crore milestone in India by the end of its run. Read on to know everything you should about the same.
As per Sacnilk, on day 8 of its release, which was also January 1, 2025, New Year’s holiday, Baby John managed to earn only Rs 2.75 crore at the domestic box office. While this number is a big surge from the Rs 2.15 crore it earned on Day 7, it is far from being called enough. The movie managed to earn a total sum of Rs 35.40 crore by the end of day 8. The film started to see massive drops on the first Monday when it only earned Rs 1.85 crore.
Early estimates, looking at the performance of the movie, suggest experts have estimated that the movie might even struggle to earn Rs 45-50 crore in total domestic collection by the end of its theatrical run. Talking of the worldwide collection, the Varun Dhawan-led actioner might wrap up its run around Rs 75 crore. These numbers are far from what the movie needs to earn to break even, forget about the profit.
Interestingly, Baby John's opening day collection has turned out to be Varun Dhawan's best-ever opening in the past five years. Bhediya earned Rs 7.48 crore on its first day, while Jugjugg Jeeyo collected Rs 9.28 crore on its opening day. This means there is some redemption for the actor even when the movie has failed to meet expectations on the first day of release.
