Baby John box office collection day 5: As the box office continues to dominate entertainment news this month, Baby John, starring Varun Dhawan, has wrapped up its first weekend at the domestic box office. While many expected the movie to regain momentum or at least some of it from day one, it has not grown significantly, only managing to slightly surpass its day 4 collections. What is worrisome is that, at the end of its first weekend—an extended one for the film—the movie has not crossed the ₹30 crore mark in India, making its future prospects look bleak.

Baby John Box Office Update Day 5

Varun Dhawan-led Baby John also stars Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi in lead roles and is a remake of Atlee's Theri. The movie rode on strong buzz until the Pushpa 2 frenzy overtook it, changing the narrative entirely. The Atlee-produced big-budget film had the advantage of releasing on Christmas Day, earning slightly below expectations and estimates. The hope was that the movie, after its Christmas release, would regain its day one momentum, if not exceed it, during the first weekend. However, while Saturday’s collections were disappointing, Sunday followed a similar pattern, earning just a little more than day 4.

The Varun Dhawan-led actioner has been earning consistently below the ₹5 crore mark for the past three days after a decent haul on day one. While there was hope for redemption on Sunday, the first weekend for the movie since its release, this did not materialize. As per Sacnilk, the film managed to earn only ₹4.61 crore at the domestic box office on day five, which is a disappointing figure.

Baby John Total Haul

The grand total of the domestic box office collection for Baby John now stands at ₹28.51 crore. This pace is far too slow for the film to recover its investment and break even. Reports from Koimoi suggest that with a budget of ₹160 crore, the film needs to earn at least 570% more to recover even the basic costs. If the movie continues on its current trajectory, recovery seems nearly impossible.

Interestingly, Baby John's opening day collection has turned out to be Varun Dhawan's best opening in the past five years. Bhediya earned ₹7.48 crore on its first day, while Jugjugg Jeeyo collected ₹9.28 crore on opening day. This means there is some silver lining for the actor, even though the movie has failed to meet expectations since its first day.
