Baby John Box Office Collection Day 1: The box office haul unfolding in India is crazy to dissect, with Pushpa 2: The Rule now the biggest net-collecting movie in the Indian market, surpassing Baahubali 2. Amid this, another pan-India movie to hit theatres was Varun Dhawan’s Baby John, which premiered on December 25, marking its Christmas debut. The movie, currently on the big screen, is produced by Atlee and directed by Kalees and was one of the most anticipated films in the country for many reasons. However, while the movie was estimated to earn ₹13 crore on the opening day, it lagged slightly behind, failing to meet the estimated numbers by a few points.

Baby John Box Office Update

For the unversed, Baby John marks Varun Dhawan’s foray into the South and also stars Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead roles. Said to be the remake of Theri, the movie was one of the most awaited films but faced delays. It finally hit the big screen on December 25, managing to earn ₹12.05 crore on its first day of release. It’s worth noting that this number is from the first day, which was a Christmas holiday.

The movie stands just a step away from its estimated opening numbers, meaning it has managed a modest performance. The real test begins today, as it faces its first weekday, drawing significant attention. Mixed reviews and the dominance of Pushpa 2 will challenge the film, but positive word-of-mouth from audiences could help it thrive.

Pushpa 2 Comparison

To give you an idea, Pushpa 2, released on December 5, earned ₹19.75 crore on Day 21 at the Indian box office compared to Baby John’s ₹12.05 crore on Day 1. This highlights the gap between the two films, showing the tough challenge ahead for Varun Dhawan's movie to secure a spot in the box office race amid Pushpa 2’s dominance.

Interestingly, Baby John’s opening day collection is Varun Dhawan’s best in five years. Bhediya earned ₹7.48 crore, while Jugjugg Jeeyo collected ₹9.28 crore on their opening days. This offers some redemption for the actor, even though the movie didn’t fully meet expectations on its first day of release.
