Babli: Subhashree Ganguly, Abir Chatterjee, Sauraseni Maitra and Raj Chakraborty attend the muhurat of the film

OTTplay was the first to report that Raj Chakrabarty is all set to bring Buddhadeb Guha’s novel Babli on the big screen. This will mark a comeback for Subhashree Ganguly after her second child Yaalini was born. In fact, she will pair up with Abir Chatterjee for the first time. Abir, on the other hand, worked with Raj in Bojhena Shey Bojhena in 2012. On January 25, the muhurat – a puja before the shooting of the film – took place at Raj’s office. Along with the director, Subhashree, Abir, and Sauraseni Maitra, who also plays an important character in the film, were present.

Subhashree took to her social media and posted some photos of the muharat ceremony. Abir and Subhashree were spotted in yellow while Raj wore a white coat and Sauraseni, a peach sari. The actress captioned it, “The journey starts #babli.” 

Several people congratulated her and wished them luck. June Maliah, Ankush, Iman Chakrabarty, and others wrote, “All the best.” Srabanti also sent her best wishes.

Earlier this month, Subhasree went for the look set of Babli. She was spotted in a white kurta and practically no makeup. After getting down from the SUV, she shared greetings with the Paparazzi. People asked her about Yaalini. Subhasree said that both Yaalini and Yuvan were doing fine.

If all goes well, the project will go on the floors between the end of January and the beginning of February. Indraadip Das Gupta is composing the music for the project.
