Tamannaah Bhatia is all set to grace the silver screen with one of her quirkiest avatars yet, as a female bouncer looking to break stereotypes, in Babli Bouncer. The makers unveiled the trailer of the upcoming film today, which shows Babli’s journey from bindaas pehlwan to adept bouncer.
The trailer takes viewers into the village of Fatehpur Beri, a village popularly referred to as the ‘Village of bouncers’. Every young man in the village spends his days perfecting his physique to build a bouncer’s body and secure their future. Among the young pehlwans is Babli, a young woman who is strong enough to best the rest of the men when it comes to her physical prowess. Babli’s search for a job leads her to Delhi, where she lands a job as a female bouncer at a club. And of course, Babli makes sure she does her job well, even if it means using her fists.

Tamannaah Bhatia stars as the titular character in the film, and shared the trailer on her official social media with the caption “Asola Fatehpur ki yeh chhori, is here to do some 'Bouncergiri'! Get ready to meet #BabliBouncer, trailer out now!”
In an earlier statement, she had called Babli one of the most interesting, fun and deep characters she had come across in a very long time. Praising the director for his efforts to bring such a memorable female protagonist on to the silver screen, the actress said that she was absolutely in love with the film’s script. Babli Bouncer also features Saurabh Shukla, Abhishek Bajaj and Sahil Vaid in pivotal roles
The film is helmed by Madhur Bhandarkar, who has also penned the film’s story and screenplay along with Amit Joshi and Aradhana Debnath. The film was bankrolled under the banners of Star Studios and Junglee Pictures.
Babli Bouncer will start streaming on Disney+Hotstar from September 23 onwards, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
