Azaad: Release date, cast, trailer, plot, OTT platform - all you need to know about Abhishek Kapoor's directorial

Ajay Devgn and Diana Penty are all set to be seen in Abhishek Kapoor's upcoming film, Azaad. The trailer was unveiled recently at a grand event and it impressed the netizens with its old-era charm. The newbies Aaman Devgan and Rasha Thadani are gearing up to steal the audiences' hearts with their fresh approach to the film. Ahead of the big release, here's everything you need to know about the historical drama. 

Azaad plotline

The movie revolves around a majestic black horse named Azaad that showcases its loyalty to Ajay Devgn's character, a dacoit (baaghi/rebel). A young stable boy tries to build a bond with the horse but everything goes in vain. But when both of them come together in the backdrop of rebellion and tyranny in 1920s India, his quest to ride Azaad becomes a journey of courage, awakening him to his own power during the country's fight for freedom.

The trailer gives a basic idea about what the audience can expect from the film. It begins with introducing the black horse named Azaad who runs with a sword in his sack. It belongs to Ajay Devgn's character. As the story unfolds, Aaman Devgan is introduced, who looks up to Ajay's character as a role model and eventually joins him on his journey. On the other hand, Rasha is seen playing a character who hails from a royal family, further adding intrigue to the story. The trailer is a mix of drama, dance, action, and emotions. It would be interesting to see how the film will leave an impact on the audience with its old-era charm. 

Azaad cast and crew

Azaad marks the debut of Ajay Devgn's nephew Aaman Devgan and Raveena Tandon's daughter Rasha Thadani. It also features Diana Penty, Mohit Malik, and Piyush Mishra in important roles. Diana will be seen playing Ajay's love interest in the film. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, Azaad is backed by RSVP and Guy In The Sky Pictures.

The much-awaited film of 2025 will hit theatres on January 17, 2025. The makers are leaving no stone unturned to promote the film. Recently, Rasha and Aaman were seen promoting the film on Salman Khan's show Bigg Boss 18.

After enjoying its theatrical run, the viewers will be able to watch it on Netflix. It will most likely come out on the platform two months after the theatrical run.
