Ajay Devgn has just introduced the world to his coming film Azaad. He released the trailer of the movie, which also happened to reveal where the movie would stream after its theatrical release. The film features his nephew Aaman Devgan and Raveena Tandon’s daughter Rashi Thadani in pivotal roles. They both mark their debut in Bollywood with Azaad, which is scheduled for a theatrical release next week. Here's what we know about the film so far...
Azaad will be out on Netflix after its theatrical run. The film is likely to be out on OTT two months after the theatrical run.
Azaad is the name of a beautiful black horse that belongs to Ajay's Vikram Rathore. This is a horse he lent to Aaman's character, who is still learning the tropes of how to handle a fine horse like Azaad. Just when he thought he did, Azaad shows his disappointment in the man.
Azaad is not just the story of the brave horse but is based on India's rebellion against the British. Vikram is a dacoit who is rebelling against the colonization in India, and Azaad plays a crucial role in the fight. Through Azaad, the young boy (Aaman) finds courage within himself to fight for freedom alongside Rathore. Amid it, there’s a love story between the lead characters (Aaman and Rashi).
Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, Azaad marks the Bollywood debut of Aaman Devgan and Rashi Thadani. The film also features Diana Penty, Piyush Mishra, Mohit Malik, Jiya Amin, and Dylan Jones in pivotal roles. Azaad’s first teaser was out in theatres on Diwali 2024 with Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The movie with the backdrop of Indian Independence is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 17.
