Ayushmann Khurrana to lead Sameer Saxena's upcoming thriller; film to go on floors in 2025

Ayushmann Khurrana is one of the most loved actors in the film industry. Making his debut with Vicky Donor in 2012, the actor rose to fame with films such as Andhadhun, Article 15, Badhaai Ho, Doctor G, Dream Girl, Bareilly's Barfi, and more. Now, the latest report revealed that Ayushmann is all set to lead Sameer Saxena's upcoming thriller.

As per a Pinkvilla report, Ayushmann Khurrana will be seen in the lead role in YRF and Posham Pa Pictures' thriller film. Directed by Sameer Saxena, the film will go on floors in the first half of 2025. 

The source added, “The yet-untitled project is a genre-bending theatrical film as the intent is to provide a thrilling cinematic experience to the audience. Ayushmann Khurrana has over the years won over the audience with his risk-taking ability, and has signed on to kick-off the partnership of YRF and Posham Pa Pictures."

The source further added that Ayushmann Khurrana is the best choice for the role to keep the viewers on the edge of their seats from the word go. It also stated that Ayushmann has already seen success in this genre in the past, and the makers are confident that they would leave a mark on the audience with the thriller film.

The yet-to-be-titled thriller will be a part of the new creative business model of YRF, under the company’s CEO, Akshaye Widhani. Further details about the film are still under wraps. 

Ayushmann Khurrana in Maddock Films' horror-comedy Thama

Ayushmann joined producer Dinesh Vijan's horror-comedy universe with a 'bloody' love story titled Thama. He will be playing the role of a vampire in the film. Speaking about Thama, Khurrana said in an interview, "The fact that Thama is the first love story of the horror comedy universe is all the more exciting! The promise of it being a ‘bloody’ love story is also a supremely unique and compelling pitch for today’s audience who want clutter-breaking theatrical experiences."
