Ayalaan: AR Rahman to drop second single Ayalaa Ayalaa on THIS date

The Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Ayalaan is gearing up for its Pongal release and the second single from the science-fiction drama is set to drop very soon! AR Rahman, who has scored music for the film, has announced that the second single Ayalaa Ayalaa will be released on December 20.  

The music maestro took to his social media handle to share the poster of the upcoming song with the caption, “I had an intruder while recording my next song! #AyalaaAyalaa - second single from #Ayalaan releasing on Wednesday, 20th of December. Are you ready?”. 

Interestingly, the first single from the film Vera Level Sago was released almost 2 years ago. The film, directed by Ravikumar, has been in the post-production stage ever since the shooting was wrapped up in 2021. Now, the makers have announced that Ayalaan will hit the theatres on Pongal 2024. 

About Ayalaan

The film, starring Sivakarthikeyan, is based on extra-terrestrial beings. Chithha actor Siddharth will be lending his voice for the alien’s character in the film. 

Recently, the makers of Ayalaan took to their social media handles to share a picture of Siddharth along with director Ravikumar with the caption, “Thank you Actor Siddharth for being a part of Ayalaan and giving life to our cosmic Neighbour. Every bit of enthusiasm, commitment and hard work you've given has made our Ayalaan more realistic and lovely. And we hope the audience will love your work as much as we did.”  

How the alien was created using CGI

The alien character in Ayalaan was generated entirely using CGI and visual effects, unlike the traditional approach of using prosthetics to transform a human actor into an alien. 

While shooting, the filmmakers used a young boy as a stand-in for the alien to allow Sivakarthikeyan to have a point of reference. Ravikumar had previously mentioned that synchronising this on the visual effects screen was a notable challenge.

Produced by KJR Studios and 24 AM Studios, Ayalaan boasts of a star-studded cast, including Rakul Preet Singh, Isha Koppikar, Sharad Kelkar, Yogi Babu and Karunakaran. Cinematography is by Nirav Shah, while editing is handled by Gopi Prasanna. The film's audio launch is slated to be held on December 26.
