The much-anticipated teaser of Sivakarthikeyan’s Ayalaan is out and has already caught the attention of the audience on social media. In fact, the teaser of the Tamil sci-fi film seems to have generated a more positive response compared to Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj's Leo trailer that released on Thursday.
Following an initial glimpse video in April, the team of Ayalaan, through its latest teaser, has revealed that the movie will feature elements such as locust attack threats, robots, UFO, and more, while giving the viewers an extended look at its titular protagonist - an intergalactic visitor.
How Ayalaan was created
In contrast to the traditional approach of using prosthetics to transform a human actor into an alien, in Ayalaan, the character was entirely generated using visual effects. While shooting, the filmmakers used a young boy as a stand-in for the alien to allow Sivakarthikeyan to have a point of reference, as per reports. Ravikumar had previously mentioned that synchronising this on the visual effects screen presented a notable challenge.
Ayalaan is also reportedly India's first alien-themed feature with over 4,500 VFX shots by Phantom FX - the most for an Indian film. The movie will be released in both Tamil and Telugu languages.
Cast and crew of Ayalaan
Produced by KJR Studios and 24 AM Studios, Ayalaan boasts a star-studded cast, including Rakul Preet Singh, Isha Koppikar, Sharad Kelkar, Yogi Babu and Karunakaran. The film features AR Rahman's musical score, cinematography by Nirav Shah and editing by Gopi Prasanna.
Earlier, on the occasion of Sivakarthikeyan’s birthday, the team had released the first single from the film titled Vera level Sago.
