Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha is finally streaming for all subscribers after being available to rent on Prime Video for nearly two weeks. Neeraj Pandey wrote and directed the romantic thriller, which stars Ajay Devgn and Tabu opposite each other in their 10th collaboration. The film also features Jimmy Sheirgill, Shantanu Maheshwari, and Saiee Manjrekar in pivotal roles.

Auron Mein Kahan Dum plot overview

Delving into the emotional depth and developing dynamics of their relationship over two decades, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha follows a couple whose love story spans from 2000 to 2023. The court finds Krishna (Devgn) guilty of numerous murders and sentences him to life in jail. In the end, this causes Vasudha (Tabu) to leave him and marry Abhijeet (Sheirgill). 22 years after his pardon and release from prison, Krishna yearns to see Vasudha. At the end, Krishna and Vasudha will meet for the last time.

October 2022 saw the announcement of Pandey and Devgn's collaboration. M. M. Keeravani composed the film's music and soundtrack, with Manoj Muntashir responsible for the lyrics.

Delayed theatrical release and mixed reviews

The film exhibitors and distributors requested that the release of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha be postponed from its original July 5, 2024 date. On August 2, 2024, the film finally hit theatres, receiving mixed to unfavourable reviews from critics. It was a financial disaster, earning only ₹12 crore throughout its run in theatres.

The box office receipts were quite disheartening, as on the first day, August 2, they grossed Rs. 1.85 crore. The collections for the next three days were Rs. 2.75 crore, Rs. 1.00 crore, and Rs. 0.95 crore, in that order. The film cost roughly Rs. 160 crore to make, yet it only made ₹12.00 crore in its first five days. Losing between Rs. 88 and Rs. 148 crore, it is the second worst box office bomb of 2024, following Ajay Devgn's Maidaan.
