Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha: Tabu wraps up filming for Neeraj Pandey’s new musical

Acclaimed actress Tabu - who was most recently seen as a gritty cop in Ajay Devgn-directed action-adventure film Bholaa - has now wrapped up filming for writer-director Neeraj Pandey’s upcoming musical love story Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha! Oscar winner MM Keeravani has composed the music for the movie, while it also stars Ajay and Jimmy Shergill, alongside Saiee Manjrekar and Shantanu Maheshwari. 

Taking to Instagram, Tabu shared a candid shot from the set and captioned it: “Yeh safar khatam hua.. #wrap #auronmeinkahandumtha @neerajpofficial @ajaydevgn @shitalbhatia_official @reliance.entertainment @kumarmangatpathak @jimmysheirgill @saieemmanjrekar @mmkeeravaani Thank you❤️” 

The National Award-winning actress will be seen as Manjula Chaudhary in the new romantic drama. Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha! - supported by Friday Filmworks and presented by NH Studios presentation - marks Tabu and Ajay’s 10th film together. 

Known for films like A Wednesday, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story and Aiyaary, Neeraj’s latest film follows a unique musical love story that spreads across two decades - between 2002 and 2023.

Nearly 20 days after its release, the Ajay and Tabu-starrer Bholaa recently entered the ₹100-crore club. It’s a Hindi remake of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s 2019 Tamil film Kaithi. Bholaa also featured Deepak Dobriyal, Sanjay Mishra, Gajraj Rao and Vineet Kumar, with Amala Paul, Abhishek Bachchan and Raai Laxmi making special appearances. In the film, Ajay played the title role Bholaa, while Tabu was seen as SP Diana Joseph.

Tabu - who played a police officer even in Aasmaan Bhardwaj’s directorial debut Kuttey - is also gearing up for the release of noted writer-director Vishal Bhardwaj’s upcoming neo-noir spy thriller Khufiya. The Netflix film is an adaptation of Amar Bhushan’s espionage novel Escape to Nowhere. It also features Ali Fazal, Wamiqa Gabbi, Ashish Vidyarthi, Azmeri Haque Badhon and Alexx O’Nell. Tabu and Vishal had earlier worked in the 2014 crime thriller film Haider, starring Shahid Kapoor, the late Irrfan Khan, Kay Kay Menon and Shraddha Kapoor.
