Veteran Marathi actor Atul Parchure passed away today, on Monday (October 14). The actor was suffering from cancer for a long time and breathed his last at the age of 57. Last year, the actor reportedly overcame cancer and then started shooting again but today he lost his battle and passed away. The actor was not just known for his performance in films but also in theatre and serials.

Atul Parchure played multiple roles in Marathi as well as Hindi serials. He was known for his performances in serials including Ali Mumi Gupchili, Jao Soon Mi Haye Gharchi, Jaago Mohan Pyare, and Bhago Mohan Pyare on the Zee Marathi channel. He has also acted in many dramas. The veteran actor also played important roles in dramas including Kapuskondaya Story, Gela Madhav Kuni Kade, Tarun Turk Mhatare Aark, Tuzhum Hai Tujpashi, Natigoti, Vishka and Valli, Tilak and Agarkar.

Talking about his Hindi work, the actor has been a part of multiple Hindi films including Salman Khan's Partner, Shah Rukh Khan's Billu, and Ajay Devgn's All The Best. The actor has also featured in Hindi films including Awarapan, Tumsa Nahi Dekha: A Love Story, Kyon Ki, Salaam-E-Ishq, Kalyug, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, and Khichdi. Besides this, the actor was also a part of various Television shows including Comedy Nights with Kapil, Yam Hain Hum, Comedy Circus, and R K Laxman Ki Duniya among others.

Last year, speaking about his battle with cancer, Atul, in an interview with India Today mentioned that doctors found a 5cm tumor in his liver last year. “I had completed 25 years of my wedding. I was fine when we went to Australia and New Zealand. But after a few days, I wasn’t able to eat anything. I felt nauseous, and knew something was wrong. My brother later gave me some medicine but they didn’t help me. After visiting many doctors, I was asked to get ultrasonography done. When the doctor did it, I saw fear in his eyes and I felt there was something wrong. I was told I have a tumor about 5 centimeters long in my liver and that it is cancerous. I asked him whether I would recover or not, and he said, ‘Yes, you will.'"
