Paramount Studios is in talks to bring back Star Trek on to the big screens, after its successful run with the 2009 franchise. Getting Star Trek back on the big screens will surely be a treat to all its fans, by carrying forward the original three seasons of the show that ran between 1966-69.

Star Trek has always been at loggerheads with its counterpart Star Wars. But with producer-director JJ Abrams taking over the helm, the Star Trek franchise has grown exponentially, with its last three films becoming instant hits and mass favourites, often influencing pop culture to a great extent.

Wandavision director Matt Shakman is said to direct the project and Paramount hopes that that returning cast members will include Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldaña, and John Cho.
