Attakathi Dinesh joins hands with director Pa. Ranjith again

According to reports, Attakathi Dinesh will be teaming up with filmmaker Pa. Ranjith for an untitled movie. The movie is produced by Ranjith’s Neelam Productions and will be directed by debutant Suresh Mari.

Attakathi Dinesh debuted as a lead actor in Pa. Ranjith’s debut directorial Atttakathi, released in 2012. The film became a commercial success and the critics lauded the performance of Dinesh. He later starred in Pa. Ranjith-directed Rajinikanth starrer Kabali. His last commercial hit was a Pa. Ranjith production, Rendam Ulagaporin Kadaisi Gundu, in which he played a lorry driver in search of WWII bombs.

The shoot of the untitled film is proceeding at a brisk pace in Chennai. Pa. Ranjith is also working on his directorial Natchathiram Nagargirathu. According to reports, this will be a romantic movie starring young talents. There is also speculation that it may star Kalidas Jayaram and Dushara.

The project was announced in 2019 with Kalaiyarasan but later went through rescheduling due to the pandemic. Dinesh is looking for a comeback after the failure of his latest release Naanum Single Thaan. The timing of his association with Pa. Ranjith should work in his favour though. Pa. Ranjith is basking in the glory of his blockbuster Sarpatta Parambarai. The filmmaker also produced the critically acclaimed Pariyerum Perumal under his home banner.
