Atrangi Re: BTS video of Chaka Chak shows the work behind Sara Ali Khan’s groovy moves

Atrangi Re’s song Chaka Chak was released last month. Shreya Ghoshal’s impeccable vocals set against A.R Rahman’s expert composition had become an instant fan favourite, not to mention star Sara Ali Khan’s faultless dance moves. The makers recently unveiled a BTS video which gives viewers a glimpse into the amount of work that went into the song.

The almost two minute long clip focuses in particular on the music video’s choreography, and features an interview with the choreographer Vijay Ganguly. The choreographer, who has lent his expertise to songs such as Galti Se Mistake, Tumhari Sullu and Stree talked about the fulfilling experience he had while on Atrangi Re’s sets.

He talked about how the film’s director, Aanand L Rai, had communicated how the film’s story could be figured in the song’s dance numbers, which Ganguly happily agreed to. The choreographer also talked of how he felt the pressure to do a good job on a song which had Rahman as a composer, and had nothing but good things to say of the composer's creation. Ganguly said that he felt that with such notable people at the helm, there was everything to make the song a hit and he went to give it his all.

And of course he could not leave out the film’s stars Dhanush and Khan, heaping praises on the work the latter put into her dance.

Atrangi Re also features Akshay Kumar in a starring role and will tell the story of three people caught up in a love triangle.

The film will be available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar from December 24
