Atlee reacts to Varun Dhawan's Baby John vs Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule at box office - 'Don’t call it a clash'

Varun Dhawan is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated film, Baby John. Directed by Kalees, the film also stars Keerthy Suresh, who recently got married in Goa, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Jackie Shroff in key roles. Ahead of the grand Christmas release, the team of Baby John, on December 18, was seen gracing an event in Mumbai. During the press meet event, filmmaker Atlee, who is presenting Baby John under his production, reacted to his film's competition from Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's ongoing hit, Pushpa 2: The Rule. The sequel to Pushpa: The Rise, which was released on December 5, is enjoying a record-breaking spree at the box office. Atlee said that he doesn't see it as a clash. Atlee on Pushpa 2 vs Baby John

Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2, directed by Sukumar, is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office. Despite the actor's arrest in a stampede case, the film has managed to enjoy a great run. The film has already touched the Rs 1000 crore mark worldwide. During the event, Atlee was asked about Baby John's release on December 25 while Allu Arjun's film is already running in theatres. 

He told the media, "It’s an ecosystem. Me and Allu Arjun sir are very good friends. We’re releasing Baby John in the fourth week of December, not head-to-head. So don’t call it a clash. There’s no conflict here. We’re aware that Pushpa 2 shifted from August to December, and we’ve planned our release around Christmas. We’re all professionals, and we know how to handle this."

During the same interaction, Atlee, who directed Jawan starring Shah Rukh Khan in 2023, revealed that Allu Arjun called him and Varun Dhawan, and wished them for Baby John. He added, "He congratulated me on the film and spoke to Varun. There’s great friendship and love in this ecosystem."

Meanwhile, Baby John is an adaptation of Atlee and Thalapathy Vijay's Tamil film, Theri. Interestingly, Baby John also features Salman Khan in a special appearance. A glimpse of the superstar was offered in the trailer and fans went gaga over it. Baby John releases on December 25, 2024.
