Asmee trailer - This dark crime thriller packs a punch

They say the first impression is often the best one and if we are to go by the trailer of the yet-to-release Telugu, Kannada film Asmee, the viewer is in for a rollercoaster ride of suspense, crime, emotions and thrills. Directed by debutant Sesh Karthikeya, actors Raja Narendra and Rushika Raj make their Telugu debut with the gory crime thriller. 

Well-known character actors Keshav Deepak and Indu play crucial roles in the film produced by Sneha Rakesh. The film was shot in the latter half of 2020 in Hyderabad. Asmee, at the core of it, is a dark love story around a newlywed couple with a mysterious past. During a dinner conversation, the two need to confront harsh truths and pay a price for their actions. What drives them insane? 

The raw and mildly disturbing trailer hints at a tale full of undisclosed secrets, dark chapters where nothing is what it appears to be. The filmmaker succeeds in keeping the viewers curious about the story without revealing its key twists. Asmee recently wrapped its censor formalities and was certified U/A. The film was reportedly well-received by the members of the CBFC board during the screening. Asmee's release date is yet to be revealed.
