Ask Karan Anything: From making a cameo in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani to responding if he's gay, Karan Johar responds to a variety of questions

Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, recently interacted with his fans on a social media platform called Threads. In the Ask Karan Anything session, he answered various questions ranging from his personal life to his professional choices. He also displayed his trademark wit and humour while tackling some tricky queries.

One of the questions that Karan was asked was about his sexual orientation. The fan wrote, "Are you gay?" To this, Karan replied,“You're interested?” Karan has often been speculated to be gay, but he has never officially confirmed or denied it. He has said in the past that he does not owe anyone an explanation about his sexuality.

Another fan asked Karan if he will make a cameo appearance in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. The film also features veteran actors Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. Karan said that he will not be seen in the film, as he does not want to ruin it. He joked, “No I want the film to be a success."

Karan also revealed his biggest regret as a filmmaker. He said that he regrets not working with Sridevi, who he considers to be the biggest superstar of Indian cinema. He said, “I never got to work with and direct my favourite actor Sridevi ma'am.” 

On the professional front, Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is slated to release on 28 July 2023. It is a romantic comedy family drama that revolves around a couple with contrasting personalities who decide to live with each other's families before getting married.
