Kasargold, helmed by Mridul Nair and featuring Asif Ali in the lead, has been cleared by the CBFC with a clean U certificate. The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on September 15.
The teaser and a song that were released earlier promise a vibrant commercial entertainer. The film also stars Sunny Wayne, Vinayakan, Geethi Sangeetha, Siddique, and Shine Tom Chacko in pivotal roles. Malavika Sreenath, known for films like Madhuram and Saturday Night, is the female lead in Kasargold.
Asif Ali's hopes about Kasargold
Asif Ali and Mridul Nair, who worked together on the campus drama B Tech, have teamed up once again for Kasargold. Asif, who hasn't been seen in many films like B Tech lately, which showcased his star power, is looking to give his fans a treat through Kasargold.
In a recently released video song for the film, he is seen dancing to a song in a bar. Even though his last film, Tovino Thomas' 2018, was a hit, the Honey Bee actor is in desperate need of a commercially successful film. In an interview with Zee Malayalam, Asif said that Kasargold is a cinematic experience that is intended for theatres. He also revealed that the film was inspired by some real-life events that took place in Kerala.
Kasargold's crew
Kasargold is bankrolled by Yoodlee Films, which has backed Prithviraj Sukumaran's Kaapa and Nivin Pauly's Padavettu. Scripted by Sajimon Prabhakar, known for Malayankunju, Kasargold falls into the neo-noir crime genre.
Vishnu Vijay, known for his refreshing songs in Thallumaala and Guppy, has composed the music for Kasargold. Manoj Kannoth is the editor, and Jebin Jacob is the cameraman.
