Asif Ali’s next with Divya Prabha titled Sarkeet, release window revealed | Check out adorable first-look poster

Asif Ali is currently basking in all the praise coming his way for his latest release Rekhachithram. The actor, who has been seeing success in his recent outings, has revealed the first look of his next – Sarkeet. The film, which also features Divya Prabha of All We Imagine As Light fame, is directed by Thamar KV. Sarkeet gets a release window of April 2025.

Asif Ali in Sarkeet first look

Asif Ali took to Instagram a while ago and shared the first look poster of his upcoming film with Thamar KV and revealed the title to be Sarkeet. The adorable poster features an elated Asif Ali with a child riding piggyback on him. The poster set against the blue sky in a windy outdoor place, exudes vibes of a feel-good drama.

Along with the poster, Asif Ali wrote in the caption: “The Journey Begins Here… An emotional tale of friendship, family, and heartfelt bonds. Get ready to experience In Cinemas – April 2025.”

Apart from Asif Ali and Divya Prabha, the film also features Deepak Parambol and Orhan.

The film, produced by Ajith Vinayaka, will have music by Govind Vasantha. Aeyaz serves as the cinematographer.

Though details about the plot or characters are not known, reports said that Sarkeet will be set in the Gulf. Notably, director Thamar’s debut movie was 1001 Nunakal, which also portrayed the tale of a bunch of Malayalis living in the Gulf.

Meanwhile, Asif Ali’s film Rekhachithram, released in theatres on January 9, 2025, is winning praise for its gripping narrative and performances. Anaswara Rajan appears in a key role in the film , which is directed by Jofin T. Chacko.

In 2024, Asif Ali was seen in notable films such as Kishkindha Kaandam and Thalavan.

On the other hand, Divya Prabha was in the global spotlight after her movie All We Imagine As Light scripted history at Cannes last year. The film, helmed by Payal Kapadia, starred Kani Kusruti and Divya Prabha in lead roles, along with Chhaya Kadam.

All We Imagine As Light is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from January 3, 2025.
