Ashwini Nakshatra and Siya ke Ram fame J Karthik to quit acting?

Kannada actor J Karthik, best known for playing Jay Krishna on the hit television show Ashwini Nakshatra and, subsequently, Ravana on Siya Ke Ram, has announced that he is quitting acting as a profession. Karthik, who goes by the moniker JK, has been dabbling with cinema too, with minor roles in films like Kempe Gowda, Vishnuvardhana, Varadanayaka, etc., and made the transition to protagonist with Just Love in 2014. Since then, JK has been in films like Bengaluru 50023, Sa, Aa Karaala Ratri, Puta 109, among others, and made his Hindi film debut with Pushpa I Hate Tears. An avid cricketer, JK has also been an integral part of the Sandalwood team at the Celebrity Cricket League, as well as the Kannada Chalanachitra Cup.

But despite giving 15 years of his life to showbiz, the structural engineer-turned-actor, did not get the breaks and opportunities he was hoping for, with his last release in Kannada being 2018’s Puta 108. JK, who has been playing the main antagonist Iblis on the Sab TV show Ali Baba-Dastaan-E-Kabul, has two Kannada films that have been ready for release for a while. A little while ago, he took to social media to announce that he was bidding adieu to showbiz. The actor, who is quite the fitness fanatic and a popular ramp model as well, wrote, “Hi everyone, In a way it feels sad that I’m Quitting my acting profession. It’s a long 15yrs journey in this wonderful career. But my parents never told me that I was into a wrong profession. I was loyal & honest to this profession but everything has an expiry date☺️Iravan & Kaada are my last releases 🙏🏼 God bless you all.”
