Popular Kannada actress Ashika Ranganath, known for her films like Madhagaja, Avatara Purusha and Raymo, is set to make her Telugu debut with Amigos. She’ll play the female lead alongside Bimbisara star Kalyan Ram in the film produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers. An official announcement about her presence in Amigos was made earlier today.

Expressing her happiness about testing waters in a new industry, Ashika wrote, “My Telugu debut couldn’t be better! Being launched by one of the biggest production houses like @MythriOfficial is wonderful :) Working with the amazing and lovely @NANDAMURIKALYAN sir & a superb technical team was exhilarating! Need all your love.” A special poster of Ashika was unveiled by the makers as well.

While confirming her presence in the film today, Mythri Movie Makers shared, “Introducing the gorgeous & talented actress @AshikaRanganath as 'Ishika' from the intriguing world of #Amigos. In cinemas on Feb 10, 2023” Written and directed by newcomer Rajendra Reddy, the film has music by Ghibran. Veteran cinematographer Soundar Rajan S has cranked the camera.

The technical team of Amigos comprises several heavyweights including production designer Avinash Kolla, choreographer Shobi and has lyrics by the late Veturi, Ramajogaiah Sastry and Rehaman. Venkat and Ram Kishan are the action choreographers and the film is edited by Tammiraju. Rajesh and Ashwin are the costume designers.

Earlier in November, the makers of Amigos released a poster with a caption that read, ‘They say when you meet somebody that looks just like you, you die’ hinting at Kalyanram’s appearance in multiple roles. Ashika Ranganath also made her Tamil debut with Pattathu Arasan, opposite Atharvaa in a sports drama, written and directed by A Sarkunam (soon to stream on Netflix).
