Asha Bhat, the Bhadravati-born girl from Karnataka, who made a splash with her Hindi release Junglee and later acted alongside Darshan in Roberrt, is all set to make her Telugu debut with Ori Devuda, a film written and directed by Ashwath Marimuthu. Much to everyone’s knowledge, this is a remake of Oh My Kadavule and will have Asha step into the shoes of Vani Bhojan from the original.
The actress was all pumped up and excited at the trailer launch of Ori Devuda, held in Hyderabad on Friday. She surprised crowds with her fluent Telugu and won hearts with her precise yet impactful speech. “I am very happy today. This is my Telugu debut and my cinematic journey continues with this industry. I hope this will be my industry soon. I can already feel I belong here,” she said.
“I’ve many people to thank; I’ll start with PVP sir (producer). I will be grateful to him bringing me on board and believing in my capacities. I thank Ashwath for giving me Meera akka, I know this is very special to him. He told me that Meera has a lot of significance in his past (pulling Ashwath’s leg) and school life. It has been a lovely experience working with Vishwak and Mithila,” Asha added.
The actress, dressed in an attractive blue costume, conveyed her gratitude to the entire team of Ori Devuda, the cast, crew, technicians, ADs. “They’ve been very patient with each of us. There was great energy on sets and I was very grateful to be a part of it. I need all your blessings, love and support and I promise to keep you all entertaining.” The film is slated to release on October 21, for Diwali.
That’s not all. Asha Bhat has other dimensions in her life that are worth noticing - she was a multiple pageant winner, bagging the titles Miss Suprnationaal 2014 and Miss Diva 2014. While she studied electronics engineering in Bengaluru, Asha has now moved to Mumbai, regularly hogging the limelight for her charitable activities and is also the founder of an NGO named Astra Foundation.
