Arun Sagar’s daughter, singer Adithi Sagar to turn to acting with Shivarajkumar’s Vedha

Yes, she has a filmi background – she is the daughter of actor and art director Arun Sagar. But for a while now, Adithi Sagar had been steadily making a name for herself as a singer, with songs like Dum Maro Dum from Rambo 2, Samshaya from Kavaludaari, and The Bengaluru Song from French Biriyani. Given her distinct vocals, the young singer is also a part of musician Vasuki Vaibhav’s band.

Now, we hear that she is going to try her hand at acting too. The youngster will play a key role in the upcoming Shivarajkumar-starrer Vedha, which will be directed by choreographer-filmmaker A Harsha. Details about her character are currently under wraps, but sources say that it is a pivotal role and that the team will likely start shooting for the film in early December. The film was officially launched in a simple muhurtha earlier this week.

Vedha, meanwhile is Harsha’s fourth collaboration with Shivarajkumar, after Vajrakaya, Bhajarangi, and Bhajarangi 2, which is currently in theatres. The film had been announced a while ago and shooting was to have commenced in early November, but the untimely and tragic passing of Shivarajkumar’s brother, Puneeth Rajkumar on the release day of Bhajarangi 2, pushed their plans ahead.

Vedha, incidentally, will mark the first home production for Shivarajkumar, under the banner Geetha Productions. Construction of a set for the film’s first schedule is currently on in Bengaluru. The film will also bring back music man Arjun Janya, cinematographer J Swamy and editor Deepu Kumar, all of who had worked on Bhajarangi 2 as well.

Apart from Vedha, Shivarajkumar is also currently committed to the action-thriller Bairagee, directed by Vijay Milton and produced by Krishna Sarthak. This film also stars Dhananjaya and Pruthvi Ambaar in pivotal roles. He also has Nee Sigoovaregu
