Arulnithi Stalin has been picky about his scripts right from the beginning of his career and has earned the trust of the audiences consistently. The actor’s recent Tamil release Iravukku Aayiram Kangal is also gearing up to entertain Telugu audiences. The Telugu version has been titled Reyiki Veyi Kallu and will have a direct-to-OTT release. aha has acquired the streaming rights for the same.
aha officially announced the streaming premiere date of Reyiki Veyi Kallu earlier this week. The film will release on the platform this Friday i.e. September 30. Iravukku Aayiram Kangal enjoyed a 50-day run at the theatres, drawing praise from several corners. Meanwhile, one of Arulnithi’s earlier hits, Demonte Colony, had a Telugu release by the same name and earned decent reviews.
Reyiki Veyi Kallu promises to be an edge-of-the-seat action thriller with a novel plot. The interesting aspect to the film is its screenplay structure - using reverse chronology in its storytelling, commanding the attention of audiences, even partially reminding audiences of Christopher Nolan’s Memento (the 2000 release that inspired Ghajini too).
The film revolves around a series of murders, telling the story of a cab driver Bharath (Arulnithi) and Ganesh (Ajmal) who blackmail people for money. The whodunit-styled narrative keeps the audiences guessing about the murderer and comes with several intriguing twists and turns. G Dilli Babu of Axess Film Factory had produced the film in Tamil.
Ramarao on Duty composer Sam CS has scored the music for the thriller which has cinematography by Aravind Singh. The film is edited by San Lokesh. The makers believe Iravukku Aayiram Kangal’s plot has a universal appeal and the potential to impress audiences across multiple languages. The Tamil version of the 2018 release can be streamed on SunNXT.
