The scandals around Armie Hammer just wouldn't die down. If the already troubling details of his private life weren't enough, his aunt Casey Hammer has now come forward and detailed the years of abuse that was allegedly rampant in the Hammer household.
In a tell-all interview with The Daily Beast, aunt Casey Hammer said that she was not shocked over the rape charges against him. Even the claims of the Call Me By Your Name star being a cannibal was not a shocker for her, according to the publication.
Casey Hammer said that the actor was destined to be a ‘monster’ as abuse was a ‘way of life’ in their uber-rich family.
She also alleged that as a child, she was abused by male members of the family.
Casey hammer told the news website, "You don’t wake up one day and become a monster – it’s learned behaviour. Once (the allegations) started unfolding, I was like, ‘Here we go, another Hammer man and something that’s being said about them."
Casey, who is the granddaughter of late oil tycoon Armand Hammer and the sister of Armie’s father, spoke out in public about Armie’s dark side since news of his disturbed behaviour started doing the rounds since January of 2021.
On September 2, a three-part documentary on Discovery+ will be revealing all the dirty family secrets that has been long buried inside the Hammer household. Casey Hammer is also a producer in the series.
Casey alleged that she let her father ‘hold a .357 Magnum to her temple every hour’ and then he would force her to open her eyes so he could check she wasn’t possessed by aliens. Casey revealed that after her grandfather died, it was her responsibility in the family to ‘babysit’ her father.
According to Casey Hammer, her and Armie Hammer’s father regularly abused cocaine and meth that led to his increasingly violent behaviour towards her.
Casey Hammer severed ties with the family after she was ignored in the family’s multi-million-dollar will in 1990, which was approximately $800 million (£692 million.)
She said, "I know my grandfather had a dark side, but I saw my father’s dark side first-hand… now it’s Armie Hammer."
"Every generation in my family has been involved in dark misdeeds, and it just gets worse and worse and worse," added Casey Hammer.
As for the disgraced Call me by Your Name star, he is reportedly planning to make a comeback in acting and was spotted with his ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers and their two children in Los Angeles earlier this month, according to Daily Mail.
The couple went their separate ways in 2020.
