Arjun Sarja to helm his daughter Aishwarya’s comeback film

Action King Arjun Sarja’s daughter Aishwarya made her Kannada film debut five years ago with Prema Baraha, a film, written and directed by the former, which was also a home production for them. The film, which also had a Tamil version called Sollividava, was a romantic drama in which Aishwarya played a journalist, who develops a bond with a rival from another organization as they both cover the Kargil war. Th film did not fare well at the box office and Aishwarya was not heard of, until news emerged that she was doing another film directed by her father.

The film, which would have been Aishwarya’s Tollywood debut, was to pair her with Vishwak Sen, but then the latter had a difference of opinion with Arjun and left the project. The actor-director has now announced that he has got Kannada actor Niranjan Sudhindra, the nephew of Real Star Upendra on board for a Kannada-Telugu bilingual that will have Aishwarya in the lead. It is not clear if Niranjan is Vishwak’s replacement or if Arjun is making another film with this new pair.

Said to be a feel-good commercial film that will be shot in Hyderabad, the as-yet-untitled project will have Niranjan sporting two distinct looks. Arjun Sarja, meanwhile, has also written the story for his nephew Dhruva Sarja’s next big film, Martin, directed by AP Arjun. A big-budget action-based commercial entertainer, Martin is likely to release by the end of the year.

Niranjan will start shooting for the Arjun directorial shortly. In Kannada, the young actor has two ongoing projects – Superstar and Hunter. While Superstar is not complete, Hunter is nearly done, with only an action sequence and song pending. The makers are hopeful of a year-end release for Hunter.
